Mausumi Dutta Autism

Children with autism often have delays in emotional and social development. They have problems in understanding other’s emotions as well as their own emotions. They do have feelings, but they do not know how to show as well as react to those feelings. So, it is the responsibility of Parents and educators to help their children understand and express their emotions. There are so many feeling words that children can learn. But before introducing her to the more complex emotions , the child should have been taught basic emotions like Happy, Sad, Angry and Afraid. There are many activities that you can do with your child to help him or her understand feelings. Like “Face guess game” — make a face and let your child to guess what you feel. You can introduce reward system also to make the game more interesting. Side by side, you can tell her some situations that make you feel that way .It will help them to gain a better understanding of emotions.
